A new version of Embedded Objects has been approved by Mozilla foundation. This new version drops support for 3.x versions of Firefox and has a few small tweaks to better support the newer versions of Firefox. A lot of people have been asking me to add a toolbar button to Embedded Objects. I’m willing to do it, but I need a pretty icon to identify it. Since I’m no graphic designer, it’d be great if someane could create a few icons for me (PNG, alpha channel, 16×16 and 32×32 sizes). A [...]
The new version is available at Add-ons for Firefox. That’s the list of improvements: added support to F4V Flash videos. The extension now tries to discover .mp4, .flv and .f4v videos; added a button to clean the history of discovered files. As always, I’m open to new suggestions.

I finally added support to Flash Video (.flv) in Embedded Objects 2.1.1. It’s working with a bunch of video sites: YouTube MySpace Vimeo Dailymotion Yahoo! Well, it took almost 2 months and a complaint, but Embedded Objects 2.0 was finally reviewed. Mozilla Foundation just approved the new version of Embedded Objects. I made some minor modifications to support Silverlight objects.
